Nassau County is considered one of the nicest suburban counties in the Tri-State area. Nassau County consists of approximately 1.4 Million residents with two cities and sixty-four incorporated villages. The county’s name originates from an early Dutch family associated with the English. There is a lot of history associated with Long Island and Nassau County dating back to the English settlers and the Revolutionary War. Nassau is comprised of three towns: Town of Hempstead, Town of North Hempstead and Town of Oyster Bay. There is one county police force and several smaller village police forces.

The Long Island Railroad services the entire county with great access to New York City and the East End. The North Shore or Gold Coast got its name from all the industrialist estates that were built in the early 1900’s. It runs from the Great Neck area along 25A to the county line in Laurel Hollow/Cold Spring Harbor. There are still some of the finest estates ever built occupying the North Shore. The South Shore of Nassau County runs from Long Beach to Massapequa Shores and has great access to some of the best Atlantic Ocean beaches in the world: Long Beach, Point Lookout, Lido Beach and Jones Beach to name several. There are excellent waterfront canal communities along the South Shore. The diversity of home styles and locations in Nassau make each town special in its own way. Nassau has great Golf Courses, Country Clubs, Marinas, Beaches, Restaurants, Public Pools and Shopping.
